Tri-color Amel. Hondo

jeph Mar 04, 2006 04:21 AM

Here is a nice tri-color albino female of mine. She was produced by Ric Blair. I've got clutches out of her the last 2 years in a row. Last year I paired her with a tangerine hypo het-albino male, and got some nice looking albino het-hypos from that. I'm probably going to pair her with him again this year,or a snow male. These pics were taken last Nov. before brumation.peace,
Jeff Teel

Full body-

Head shot,no flash-

here was one of the females from her clutch. I really liked this one-

And another female from her clutch-

Steve Michales now has both of those females. If you see this Steve, how are they doing..?, the albino pyro male from you is doing great, been eating all winter.

Hi Jeff

I actually just picked up an 04 Pyro that originally came from you.. I can post a pic if your interested in seeing her.

This photo is of my 05 Male, as you can see he is pure white that he seems to be holding as he grows .

My 05 female who was produced by Mark Bayle is turning more and more yellow with each shed and looks more like the one you just posted. If I have time today i will take a pic of her and post it up. I was considering trading her for a female that looked more like my male but after looking at your pics i think i will hang on to her. Thanks for posting!

Hi Mike,
I'd love to see a photo of the '04 pyro you got that was originally produced by me. I always love to see pics of snakes I hatched and sold later on down the road. What pyro was it..?. I really like both phases of the amel. hondos, when they stay pure white into adulthood, that is a neat look, but then when the white bands turn yellow, bright yellow, making a snake that has no white at all,is also a very neat looking snake. She did have white bands as a hatchling, but keeps getting more yellow, but I'm pretty sure all the yellow that was gonna come in is in now. She is a pretty large snake too. Thanks for the comments from everyone, once I get the snakes warmed up again I'll start getting pics of more hondos up here, plus other snakes.Peace,
Jeff

AHHH, that is a nice female. Her color is much better looking in person. She was from 2 pyros out of randy wrights-(what he calls) his cherry head line. The clutch was 1.2, the male had 27 bands to the vent, and the other female had 32,with nice red on the head like yours. Here is a female from the same line that randy produced. She was a sibling to the 18 banded male randy produced, which is pictured in Brian Hubb's book- " Mountain kings ". Thanks for the pic by the way,
Jeff

This is my 05 Mark Bayle female that i refered to in my last post. It is not a great photo of her but you can clearly see that she is not crisp white like my Male. I think i prefer the looks of my male but if she turns out looking like the adult you posted i will have no complaints! ` Mike Russo

How much does that snake weigh, she looks big and healthy!

MikeRusso Mar 04, 2006 08:44 PM

I don't have a gram scale so i can't answer that, but she is an 05 hatchling that just switched form large fuzzies to smalee mice... and she is prob. about 20" long.. i will try to get a better pic of her posted up soon.. ~ Mike

Sounds like she's fat'n happy and should be a great breeder. I picked up a gram scale at Bed Bath and Beyond, I think it was like forty. It's fun weighing their progress!
