Feeding veggies....

FlammySnake Mar 04, 2006 01:56 PM

Since I had my vet visit I've opted to take lele's wonderful advice and start offering veggies to my little guy. I know things like iceberg lettuce are a big no no, but what do you guys(and girls!) use? Members of my family are addicted to celery so it's always around, is that ok to feed?

Luna loved butternut squash (be sure to peel off hard rind) and strawberries! She would sometimes eat her Kale.

There is a great bearded dragon site with the Ca:P ratio and other info on a slew of fruits and veggies. All color coded, too! We visual sorts like that! I woulkd stick pices on the end of a wooden skewer and she would grab it off. She would all but fall off her branch when she even got a glimpse of strawberry!

It is also a great guide for gutloading your feeders - check it out, but first...

mmmmmmm, strawberries

I'm sure that celery is okay....but you can use things like wedges of apple, pear, pieces of melon, berries, kale, collards, dandelion greens, red pepper, squash, slightly cooked sweet potato just to name a few.

I usually start off with apple wedges since they seem to like that....then move to other choices from the list.
