Shed problem, please help

buffysmom Mar 05, 2006 10:12 AM

My big male has been white & ready to shed for 7 days now, but has yet to actually do the work & shed. This has never happened before, although I do consider him a lazy shedder, normally missing most of his toes & often ignoring his belly. I've been keeping his humid hide very humid since last week, so it's not that there's too little humidity.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm worried about him.

your thread hadnt been answered. did your boy shed yet? sometimes my boy looks pale like hes going to shed and the skin doesnt actually come off for like 5 days later.

Thank you for responding. No, he hasn't shed yet. I guess it's not really a problem yet- the skin doesn't look ragged or baggy or too tight or anything that might cause him problems. It's just weird. I've never had this happen before. It's been 9 days now...

BTW, that's a beautiful leo in your post!

maybe he just isnt getting enough vitamins so he just looks dull. what do you feed him and what type of vitamin dust do you use? sometimes my big guy in the picture forgets that water is good for him and doesnt drink, like myself; and so every once in a while ill have him lick a few drops of water out of an eye dropper. after that the next day his color improves/or sheds. thats good that you said you have been keeping your humid hide humid. thank you for the compliment.

He's shedding as I type! Thank you for your help. I guess he just took forever this time around- nearly 2 weeks! Weird...
