WTF noise?

dunringill Mar 05, 2006 01:57 PM

Today I did a few things to the frog tank....a little cleaning, planted some pothos, and added some moss. There's only one WTF in the tank and he was snoozing in the waterfall so I left him there while I did the work.

Well I guess I made too much noise and startled him, because I suddenly heard this one loud sharp BARK! Sounded a lot like my papillon but that little fuzzball was asleep on the couch to my right, and this sound came from the other direction.

Did that noise come from my frog??? Just wondering. I finished up the housekeeping and he's still snoozing in the waterfall.

I think my frog owns a megaphone....

Well I do know he's a male....he croaks once or twice a day, for about 20 seconds. starts out very quietly, gets louder and LOUDER, and when he reaches his crescendo he STOPS very suddenly. We're finding him very amusing!

I train and show dogs....someone had told me these frogs can bark when startled and it sounds like a small dog. I thought "oh yeah right, I know the sound of a dog barking!" Well when he made that noise this morning, I found myself looking around for a dog! Too funny.
