OT - I found my hisser!!!

lele Mar 05, 2006 03:16 PM

MONTHS ago my pet Mad Hisser got loose. Well, my cats were circling the bookcase (which is where she disappeared from) and i figured it was just an escaped cricket - then i heard her HISS! It took some doing but I got her out unharmed and set her up with with some fresh ground beans and a piece of orange. I'm psyched (not all that surprised) that she is back

Lucky little girl If any "insect" get lost in this house, more then likely it will get smooshed if I don't find it! LOL, or maybe even eaten.... if Pearl finds it. She's a protien freak. Glad to hear she's safe and sound at home

she was doing some serious hissing! Even startled me! I think my girl's (feline) are so used to have 6 and 8 legged's around they tend to watch rather than eat - well, excpet for the crickets of course...mmmmm....lunch!

Wow, Lele- CONGRATS! That's amazing how long a Madagscar-hisser can survive! How long lived are they?

My husband would not have slept or stayed in the house until I found it, hehehehe LOL Big guy too, just does not like BIG BUGS. ESPECIALLY ROACHES !

I had wanted to breed roaches instead of crickets and he said NO WAY .....

LMAO (MEN)

Cool!!! When I was at the reptile show this weekend one of the hissers has babies right there!! It was so cool. Do you handle your hissers much?? What all do you feed them??

Thats great that you found her!
lol I just remembered, I had a couple a few years back, and I didnt even know one was missing, until my dad came upstairs white as a sheet holding a cup with a lid ducttaped over it...
Apparently while he was sorting through laundry downstairs, it ran up his arm and hissed at him, needless to say their tank became EXTREMELY escape proof (And almost air proof lol) after that point!]

Glad you found her!!

Erin

p.s Cant wait for you to get your new baby!

funny story

love seeing "dad's" scared - something empowering about it!

If they could only tell you where they've been and the adventures they had! (the roach, noot your dad )
