That is NOT a dasia, dasias are green lil skinks. I think it may be a rainbow skink, Mabuya multifasciata, but i'm not so sure. The pic's a bit blurred.

after doing alot of research im actually starting to think that it is. of all the pictures iv found, they range from being bright green, to green with brown covering from there back half, to green with the top of them brown leaving bright green on there stomach (like mine)
of all the other skinks i examined pictures and descriptions of her little face also matched up pretty perfectly, kinda a chubby little face with a long, this nose. she often looks at me through the glass all cockeyed, its pretty funny.
i found a picture of a dasia that looks exactly like our daisy, at this link http://www.jackspets.com/Reptilemisc.htm
just scroll down to were it says green dasia and that little lizard looks exactly like it..
i think maybe as they grow in age and size they loose some of there brightness and the brown grows to cover up the green, or perhaps its some kind of sexual dimorphism. (i really dont know, there just theories.) anyway i may still be wrong, but i do think that it is one and iv looked it up ALOT though there isnt much about them. there is a big variety in all the pictures iv found, three or for of the "dasia smaragdina" pictures i came across looked like all different species, but i know that reptiles often individually look different, your right that she doesnt look like alot of the pictures, but then she looks alot like some of them. anyway thanks alot for the help, and if you find anymore info please post it, as well as availability (if i tried my hand at breeding and kept them more, its cool to think that i could make my search for imformation easier for others in the future.
later,
kxi

They do look pretty alike. I keep a Mabuya multifasciata myself, havent seen any dasias in my area though. Your pics kinda blurry, so its kinda hard to tell if the bellies green/white. As a guideline, dasias have at least a tinge of green on them, but still, its kinda hard to tell. Most of my pets are also unknown, until i did some browsing. I sugest the same, type the dasias in google/other search engines, and u can get a variety of pics to match your pet.
Good luck!

i know its a crappy picture and for that i apologize.
daisy , our knew name for the little lizard (i think it makes her sound like a superhero) is like olive brown on the top and bright green on the bottom. iv definately yahoo'd, googled, dogpiled, etc., still without finding a great deal of info. i learned that the emerald tree skink was actually removed from dasia, and there are about 8 species remaining in dasia. i found a picture of a "brown tree skink" that looks alot like her, and is actually a dasia.
i live in charlottesville, virginia, and at a pet store called pet forum they have a somewhat sickly looking "green dasia" that actually is an emerald tree skink, at least looks like most of the pics found, for those of you looking for one.
well i dunno, thanks alot for everyones help and i will try to post some better pics. i would also like to show off her new cage, a 30 tall with alot of live plants and stuff that im very proud of. i just added a whites tree frog to it, couldnt help myself it was so cute. i got it at my work (pet supplies plus) and knew it would die if i didnt give it a good home. they sent us a "reptile habitat" that is made for hamsters, friggin ridiculous. impossible for animals to thermoregulate and very hard to hold humidity. already put in my 2 weeks cause i just cant take pride in my job anymore, its actually worse then housing everything in 5 and 10 gallon tanks.
anyway thanks
