tbmorphs Mar 05, 2006 08:46 PM

IVE POSTED PICS OF THESE GUYS BEFORE BUT NOW I AM VERY HAPPY TO SAY MY HYPO BURMESE'S ARE HOME AND ALL SETTLED IN. WE WERE VERY LUCKY IN GETTING THE CHANCE TO PURCHASE THESE AWSOME ANIMALS. I WANT TO PERSONALLY THANK MIKE COLE, BALLROOM PYTHONS SOUTH, AND NEIL GOLLI, NEIL GOLLI REPTILES FOR THE CHANCE. ALTHOUGH WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING IN THE LARGE SNAKE WORLD TO COMPARE THEM TOO, IF THESE GUYS DONT PRODUCE A WHITE SNAKE THAN I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL. ALL I CAN SAY IS BUTTER, LESSOR BALL!!!!

IT'S ALWAYS FUN BEING ABLE TO BE IN ON THE GROUND FLOOR OF A NEW PROJECT. CANT WAIT TO SEE A 15' WHITE SNAKE IN DAYTONA HUHHHHH!!!!

this burm is cool looking but it looks alot like a pastel to me instead of a hypo which would still be cool if it made super pastels either way im looking forward to seeing what comes from this project in the future its not something i can afford but it gives me something to drool over

I don't know if I am the only one that sees indian python markers in the side patterns or not. Paint me crazy if I am, but I have never seen a burmese that had the charachteristic indian python "doughnut" side markings before. This was the main reason I passed on these when they were offered to me last year.

No offense to those that bought these. They are still quite beautiful molorus pythons.

David.. Please post some pictures of Indians to compare with these. Ive seen many Indians and some do have the circle patterns on the sides, but not to the degree these seem to have. Im sure if asked Michael?? would provide scale count info, seems like an easy way to see if these are crossed or not? I dont see any of the normal details on these that the hybrids have, head pattern and scales etc. Plus with hybrids, there is usually a lot of variation in the offspring pattern wise. I dont see that either, they all seem very similar to each other and the mother, at least from the pictures Ive seen.

I think these are just a morph or typical burmese python. Plus I didnt think Indian pythons were native to Vietnam??

Anyway, good point..

Brian

David, I wanted you to look at the eyes and see what you thought.. I know normal burmese and Indians do not have light/ yellow eyes like that, they are really crazy!! I know some bateaters do have eyes like that?? Maybe its just because the whole snake is genetically lacking dark pigments? Either way, eyes are pretty neat!!

Personally I see your comparison and would probably agree with you if I just had to make my opinions on My or Josh's photographs. Fortunately I have had the luck to see all the hypos in person as the importer with Neil Goli and I have to say that the Hypos lack the high yellow coloration of a pastel, but rather have that faded or stonewashed appearance in person making them closer in appearance to Butter Balls, Lesser Platinums or even Good Fire Balls.

Here is a true Hypo (Blonde) Burm. I got this animal in 1999 I breed her to a normal male and produced a clutch of hets. I breed her back to a het. male and got a couple of lesser hypos like you have pictured here I bred her to one of the lessers and got a clutch of better looking lesser. The project ended there due to matters out of my control. I do not think that a white snake will ever be produced from these animals, I feel that if it were possible it would have happened in my breeding. But I think that the animals you have now may be the offspring of my original female.

Look at the side pattern of your and the side patterns of the others pictured in this thread. Yours has the characteristic solis splotches that burmese have. The others have the hollow doughnut-like rings that are characteristic to indian pythons. Not to put them down in terms of their beauty, they certainly are beautiful snakes. But I seriously doubt they are pure burmese. And this in and of itself is actually not a bad thing.

I would be very interested to know where the decendants and original female of yours are. This snake here is stunning.
