Egg question

LNell Jul 27, 2003 09:43 PM

When your monitors lay eggs and they have a deep layer of soil (1-2 ft), how do you find the eggs in such a thick layer of dirt? It seems like it would be quite hard. I doubt you could just go digging around, the eggs could be damaged. Well, any answers are greatly appreciated, Lucas

I generally know where the female has layed (she is digging in that spot in the days prior). I then dig half inch by half inch until I find them (tedious, time consuming and very sweaty work in the hot enclosures).

cheers, Andrew
