I'm a first-time reptile owner, and purchased a young leopard gecko yesterday. I've done a lot of research and reading about them, and am fairly certain that I have their habitat set up correctly. One problem I've had right now is that he has not yet eaten. I'm feeding him canned crickets and mealworms, because right now I cannot keep live ones, and I've read that you should use tweezers and move it back and forth in front of their face until they grab it, until they are used to eating them on their own.
I'm kind of at a loss on what to do now. I've only owned him for about a day and a half, so maybe he hasn't been hungry yet, or he's still nervous from the move, but I'm used to pets that will eat daily, and I'm kinda worried that he won't.
Does anyone have any advice?
Oh, and also earlier today he spent a few minutes licking one of the crickets, but didn't try to take it into his mouth, in case they're too big I've cut a bunch of them in half, but I don't think that's the problem. Thanks in advance.
