Hi all, just thought I share that my new cage is soooo close to being finished!!! Just need to screw on the doors and put on the handles and throw in the last of the plants. I'm soooo excited! I also answered my own question over how to transfer my veiled to his new home (if any of you remember,,, he's miserable and I'm scared of him!). I mentioned to my hubby how the new cage is so big we could fit 1/2 doz of his old cage in there,,, then it dawned on me, thats how to do it. I'm just going to get the new one all set up and set his current cage inside. I'll either remove the door or the top of his current cage and let him decide to come out on his own. The lights will be on top of his new cage so if he wants to bask he'll have to move. (of course I will keep an eye on him to make sure he does move out). He actually supervised the building of his new home. We did the assembling in the room where he is and he stayed right out there watching to see what the heck we were doing. (Shoulda had a little white hardhat for him). Anyways, thanks for all of your suggestion to the questions I've been posting. I'll get some before and after pics up when its complete. Lo

Thanks,, I'm very excited. His current cage is an ESU Fresh Air Habitat (20tallx18widex12deep) and his new cage is a home made 48tallx48widex24deep,,, my 13 yr old boy was inside it last night trying to decorate it. I need more plants!!! I've got a large ficus and want to get either another ficus or an umbrella plant. I've got a pothos and hibiscus in his current cage that I will be transferring to the new one. I've got a "bendy vine" and I bought a package of bamboo (12-15 rods, 36" long each). I've got 2 20" uvb hoods and 2 10" dome lamps for the new cage. When its totally complete I'll take pics and try to post them here. Thanks for asking. Lo

Sounds FANTASTIC! I can't wait to see your pics. Your cham is going to have a lot of room. Your plan to sub-divide for a female in the future is awesome. I never plan ahead that far. LOL Diane

Thanks, it wasn't so much planning for the future as it was the cost of it. I had found plans to make a 2x2x4 cage that used 10 boards. Then I came across the plans to make the double cage using only 11 boards (and the boards only cost me 1.75 ea.) So my hubby said might as well make the bigger one. (hehehe Ask him how he felt trying to find a place to put it after it was made!!!)Lo
