O.K. Pit experts, couple of more questions from a rookie working with Black Pines this year.

My Female is gravid. I believe copulation occured on 1/29, 36 days ago.

1. On average, how many days after copulation can I expect her to complete ecdysis and lay her eggs?

2. How many days do lodingi eggs require in the incubator.

Thanks For Your Help....

There is nothing set in stone about how long it will take before she lays. I have had them go a few days as 43 and as long as 87 days. As far as incubation time, there again nothing in stone. Normally it is within 63 - 72 days depending on incubation temps etc. Put a laying box in with her as soon as you can would be my suggestion.

Six weeks from breeding to egg laying, with a pre-egg laying shed typically 10 days prior to egg deposition.

Hatching takes 60 days with incubation at temperatures 82-84 degrees.

Like Mr. Cherry stated, these are merely guidelines. Actual timeframes may vary.
