i as doing some reading and i came across some info about feeding them
navy beans, green split peas and lentils
i bought them in the dryed form do i feed them hard or do i cook them to make them soft

I feed small amounts of dry lentils, split peas, and crushed mixed beans in a small separate bowl (along with seeds, dry grains, etc). If your uro isn't a young one, you should be fine feeding them dry - they have very strong jaws, and crunch them up easily. Larger beans I grind coarsely in a coffee grinder, but lentils I feed dry and whole.
If you have a smaller uro, you can crush it all into a powder in a coffee grinder. Sick uros, uros who aren't eating, or very tiny uros probably shouldn't be offered dry foods as it will worsen any dehydration.
Also, though these items provide good things like protein, they also have a horrible Ca
h ratio and should be fed in moderation.
