thank you for the help guys, i have the little guy under a uva light, i understand now, i need uvb. i offer him alot of basking time but he seems to prefer sleeping. they are about 7 inches away from there light, and feeding fine. sadly, the only specialty vet in my area is about 80 miles away! local vets all have extreme fobias of snakes and lizards and refuse to touch them(i write lots of hate mail). i purchased some repcal calcium with vit.d3 powder. but i have never seen any lights that are uvb, could you name a brand?........ i fed him a pinkie by tease feeding, he ate it(pinkies are high in calcium cause of the bones and the mothers milk, right?) thank you again

I use Repta sun uvb lights on my reptiles (its a brand). I beleive Flukers makes uvb lights too, they make A LOT of reptile supplies.

the neo-cal syrup would be really good for him, i know it is a long drive but it could help him out alot. i take it since the vet it so far away that you have never had a fecal check to see if they have parasites?

the sleep could be because of the wintery weather or it could just be part of the fact that he doesn't feel good

i am not endorsing any one site (eve ) , i just know this sites lists out their UVB lamps in an easy to read order. i use and recommend the the 10.0

Nice, pinkies are full of good stuff, calcium included. I would just remember to dust his meals with calcium(phosphorus-free) every time for awhile until he is doing better. When back to health 1-2 times a week I dust normally. I feed my collarded a main cricket diet (feed crickets well!). As for treats meal/waxworm and some veggies(some veg. bad) all work. Fresh little water bowl everyday!

As for a light I use Zoo Med ReptiSun 10.0 for UVB and Zoo Med Basking light for UVA, Both are must!

What kind of veggies do you feed your lizards?
