Repti Shedding Aid or Shed Ease???

sjenkins Mar 06, 2006 09:39 PM

I posted awhile back about a young boa I adopted with a spinal kink and the problems associated with shedding. Even with the proper humididty I have to help remove her sheds through multiple soakings and peeling with tweezers. I was going to try one of the commercial products and was wondering if anyone knew if one was better than the other. Repti Shedding Aid is produced by Zoo Med, and Shed Ease by ESU. Anyone here who has used one or the other I would love to hear from you. TIA

Well, I haven't used either one, but I think you'd probably be just as well off just to do some heavy misting when she's in shed. Also, could the shedding be due to poor health from the previous owner? Possibly once she's back to full health she'll start to shed properly. Good luck, take care

Actually I believe the problem is related to the kink/neurological disorder that doesn't allow her to properly "rub" her old skin off. I have tried misting as well as soaking when it's time but always end up removing most of it by hand. Just thought one of these products might make it a little easier.
