I know everyone says "do not mix species". Well, I would like to hear from those of you who had mixed species successfully. What did you mix? How did they interact? Ect..

Hey there,

I used to have a Mojave lizard set-up (a huge outdoor pen)that included the larger lizards of the Mojave desert and two Desert Tortoises. The count was a trio of Mojave Collared Lizards, an trio of desert Iguanas, a pair of Chuckwallas, a trio of Desert Spiny Lizards, and a Leopard Lizard. The lizards got along pretty well as long as they were all fed enough. The only problems were with the Leopard Lizard. She seemed to rule the roost, save the Chucks, who didn't really care what she was doing. The other lizards mostly went about their business. They all basked on each other, ate in the same areas, and made for excellent companions to watch. I was unsuccessful with breeding, as my female collared laid duds, but my Spinys bred on their own, and I found many babies all over the yard, and we still have some here and there. Thats my story.
