Anyone on the forum live in the West Los Angeles area? I'm moving there soon, and I'd like to know what monitor keeping is like there.

Aw man, its tough being a monitor owner around here. I live sort of over here where Venice and West LA and the marina all come together. Now having a monitor in los angeles is difficult... first, you have to get your lizard some implants and a nose job, then an agent and a manager, and then a dietician, a pilates instructor and an accountant. Only then can your lizard be prepared for life around here.
I guess i don't understand your question. Is what you're asking regarding the weather out here? Since the nights seldom get below the mid-50's, its pretty easy to sustain reasonably stable temperatures... plus, since it seldom reaches over 90 degrees this close to the beach, it stays nice and mild and easy to predict. There are plenty of places you can purchase food from around here, and if you can handle the extremely high cost of living out here, then it should all work out just fine.
Does this help at all? Just do me a favor and don't be one of these clowns that drags their lizard down to the boardwalk to try and impress the tourists and morons. Please, i beg of you. It casts a black shadow over us all.
Do you have any more specific questions about living with monitors around here?
Sorry I didn't phrase my questions right. I was wondering about food, supplies, etc. Also, I know that in LA you have to pay $70 and inform your neighbors. Is that true of Venice, Santa Monica, and West Hollywood, etc.?
Thanks.

yah i live in the valley, but as long as you keep it in your proporty you will be fine. keep it on the D.L.(down low)!
Its kind of a pain since in Los Angeles you need a special permit that cost $70 per year, and you have to notify your neighbors in writing that you have a potentially dangerous animal. I'm a student at UCLA and live in northern California, so I didn't even bother to get one.
