I call it spot the hets! 2 of these ball pythons are definate hets, 2 are unproven poss hets. Why am I doing this? Well, I've been saying for a while now that het animals just look...well...different. It's nothing you can really describe, they just have a look to them that sets them apart in my opinion. I figure this is a good way to see if I'm the only one. Answer will be posted later...

2 & 7 ?......

You beat me to it.

I think #'s 2&7 would be the definate hets. I can't put my finger on it, but I too see something when I look at my het albino, and if we are seeing the same thing then it would have to be 2 and 7.

This is only a guess, but...
#2 - poss het clown,
#7 - poss het axanthic,
#'s 4 and 6 - het albinos.
#1 was sold as a "jungle"
#'s 3 and 5 - normals

Some more specific info before I'm off to work...will post answer when I get home.

1 of the animals pictured is a 66% poss het clown, 1 is a 66% poss het axanthic (this was honestly the animal I didn't expect anybody to guess is a het, which is kinda the point of this post...you'll see what I mean later), and 2 of the animals are 100% het albino. the other 3 are normals, though 1 was sold to me as a "jungle". There have been a few correct guesses...which also goes with my point

#3 het Clown

CherylBald Mar 08, 2006 12:54 PM

I say 4 & 3 are your het albinos and while I'm not very familiar with axanthics I'd guess #2 for the het axanthic.

What do I win? LOL

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.

More accurately, Bill, I think it's:
"What morph is this [very normal] ball I bought at Petco?"

I made a game out of it just to make it atleast somewhat interesting and the pics helped me show what I was talking about. I probly shouldn't have included #3, but oh well.

It was a neat game. I learned once again how little I know about ball pythons, but that's okay. I know I'm just starting. They are neat animals. Thanks for thinking of this.

#2 is the poss het clown, #7 is the poss het axanthic, #'s 4 and 6 are the het albinos. A lot of people got 2 and 7...So atleast it's not just me..there is something diff about hets. I'll hopefully be proving the poss het clown in 2 years...I have an unpictured normal possibly gravid from him. What's everybody else's thoughts on this? Is it just me, or do others see this "difference" I'm talking about? (btw, #1 was sold as a "jungle", 3 and 5 were normals...though 3 looks weird to me)

Your #3 reminds me of all 4 of my het albino females, they all have that light pattern, they are from 2 different breeders as well.
