Avoiding Burns

nymph Mar 08, 2006 10:48 AM

I was just wondering how burns are avoided if you use an undertank heater and paper towels. Are the geckos smart enough to move when they get to warm?? I put enough layers of paper towels so it does not feel like it will burn to me. Is that good?? I have a humid hide, regular hide, meal worm container with vitamins, and water.. Is that good?? Thanks!!

you will need a dimmer switch or a thermostat for your heat pads to be able to controll your heat.

well...i am assuming you only have your two new babies, so i wouldnt go out a buy the ones i use witch are good but cost $100 . try maybe this place called the bean farm or reptilesupply. you can just do a yahoo surch to find the right site. or big apple herp but they are a little pricey. if you have a local herpstore they probably have one. or you can get a dimmer switch if the room they are kept in stay at about the same temp all the time.

I would have to say a dimmer switch from Walmart is the way to go. I personaly dont have an over heating problem but If I did thats what I would do. In fact you can more than likly find enough change under your couch cushons to buy one
