UV Lighting

Chickadee0104 Jul 27, 2003 11:49 PM

I know UV light is critical in maintaining the health of lizards, but the commercial bulbs are so darned expensive! The one I have for my Uros cost $65! Insanity... So, I'm thinking about adding to my herp collection and was wondering if there are any alternatives to the commercial bulbs. Let me know what arrangements you guys make for UV lights and your lizards.

Thanks bunches!

It will depend on what brand and size, etc. you need. I have ESU 7% fluorescents and got them online at reptiledirect.com. Even with shipping included, it was less expensive than the local pet stores! And they have the size I need - 36", which is apparently unheard of at PetSmart.

If you need a different brand, just shop around online - there are many many options, undoubtedly cheaper than where you got yours.
