BALL PYTHON HELP!! PLEASE!!!

AndrewRosen Mar 08, 2006 03:55 PM

out of no where, while my female ball python was out of her tank she got a big bubble like lump in her mouth... i gently touched it to see if it was an air bubble and a thicklike somewhat foamy saliva discharged... the lump came and went a couplle of times and how it sounds as if she is wincing... i would post a picture but the bubble lump hasnt came back for a few minutes... if it does i will post a follow up message.. all that she's doing now is making sporatic wincing/ short heavy breathing sounds... does anyone know what is wrong or anything i can do???

? are you sure the "bubble" isn't the breathing tube located at the bottom front of the snakes' mouth?.......

pink hole?.......

......even so.it shouldn't be having trouble breathing .....heavy breathing is real bad..........

too cold?

chemicals?

sick from being too cold all the time?.....

just drank water or was placed into water and is gasping for air from being submerged?.....

...just some ideas for you

it wasnt at the bottom front of her mouth... it was more located towards theback at the end of her mouth... i have her under a heat lamp and and under tank heating pad going.... i just changed her bedding and maybe she just drank water but i tried to help her out by pushing the "bump".. she's just hanging out under the heat lamp now... i dont think she's cold or anything, just ate the other day.... thanks for the ideas... if you get this and think anything else could be wrong, please let me know... do you think it can be some sort of respirtory infection? like i said i havent seen the lump back for a little while but the whole thing just worried me... thanks.. get back
