We have been trying this in our display type enclosures and it does work well and it is cheap. You can regulate how uch humidity by how wet it is from pre soak it to just mist it. One idea is to make it half the enclosure or tub by putting it in a rubbermaid or tupperware type box (or small kitty litter box, inside your enclosure. This way you can soak it up pretty good, makes awesome humidity, snakes like to hang in there but have somewhere dry to go to in the tank too...in that area you can use paper towels. In racks paper towels are pretty easy to use, cheap too. Cage carpets work well too from Zoomed and others. Lots of options but the cypress so far for us is working in the big tanks.
