hey guys...i havent been keeping chondros long and i was wondering what to do about my yearling biaks bad shed...it didnt have a bad shed with me but did with the previous owner...the previous owner gave it to my friend who owns a very good exotic pet store....not like other stores where u get sick animals...i had just gotten a hatchling aru from him through a breeder a couple weeks earlier and i walk in and there is another chrondro...a little dry but a good eater...so he sold it to me for dirt cheap and 2 days with me and it got its skin off of its entire head...unfortunately it still has pieces on it and i was wondering how u guys do soaking...obviously with wet paper towels instead of actual water...but my question is do you just put it in or do you give it a perch? thanx for any help...and i have been keeping snakes for a long time just new to the chrondro keeping...but im planning on gettin 2 of jims pvs cages so i cant wait

Replace the substrate in its enclosure with wet paper towels and increase your daily mistings. You could also move it into another tub with wet paper towels as a substrate and keep it in this overnight but make sure it has a heat source and can keep high humidity levels. I have had this happen once and all I did was remove the paper substrate and replace it with wet paper towels. All skin was off in 24 hours.

Good luck,
Bart

I've had animals that just had chronic bad sheds. It didn't matter how much you misted, the animals just had patchy sheds. The best way to get the skin off for me was to place them in a tub with a wet towel......no perch. Usually the skin was off by the next day. Good luck.
