Most husbandry sheets say that they will not drink from standing water and recommend misting once - twice a day. I don't know about a waterfall however when I was keeping veilds and jacksons I remember reading how many people had luck getting their chams to drink from waterfalls or from standing water with an air pump sitting in it to create bubbles. Since they really don't need to be misted all that often stick with the misting, it will also keep humidity up.

I've witnessed both of my cresteds drinking from a shallow dish of water, although not often. I always provide a dish of fresh water as well as misting daily.

Mine drinks from a dish.

IME, many animals when captive kept can learn to drink from a water bowl. I've even seen my beardie drinking from a bowl. All my animals have water available to them at all times.
