That I fear will lead to nothing but disappointment.
1.) I introduced a hypo male (the one that bred my CBLT who is due any day) to a Cherry Red female. The first time was back in 11/25/05. He was heavy on her for about a week, then moved off, so I put him back with the CBLT for a week...When he moved off of her, I tried him back with the Cherry Red girl...some activity again...when he lost interest again, I tried several more times, but he always curled up on the opposite side as her, even if that meant he had to be cold. The last time I tried was about a month ago...still nothing...Now, her tail end is noticably swelled, though not hugely and not due to food, because her appetite has been gone and she has been in a prolonged shed (Blue) from hades. I'm beginning to think she will never shed out. I fear this is all going to end well....I fear slugs...
2.) I introduced a DH Sunglow to my Hog female between Dec. 5th - Jan 20th, or so. I have never seen any interest at all. Figured it might be because he was a virgin...but, I pulled him and put him with my Red Pastel Suri, and instant attraction. Every so often I pull him from her and put him back with the Hog and still nothing. The hog too has been off feed, and like the other she used to be a very strong eater, never a refusal. She too is beginning to swell and is in the blue...but, no male has ever bred her...not that I've witnessed...and I go in many times a day and night just to check on the boas, as I have nothing else to do since I am unemployed right now. Last night he was resting away from the Suri for a change, so I removed him and put him back with the Hog...this is the most interest I have seen...and it was not encouraging. He actually left a sperm plug on her and he is curled up on the heat next to her...but, that is it. This too I fear will come to no good...another slugging waiting to happen....
Any opinions on this? Anyone else experience similar happenings and actually end up with good news? I'm not holding my breath for good news, that's for sure...I just hope they don't have a hard time expelling the slugs...
