In her lay box most all the time, not taking any food now...this is day 14 past the pre-lay shed. Still No eggs though...I dont know what to think.

So tell me guys , Is this possibly the biggest blond moment of my life, or do you think she is gravid?

All the tell tale signs and occurances were right in order up until now which I would say she is a tad late in laying? Here she is at this moment.

she looks gravid to me.

Last year I had 2 snakes go past their shed by more than 15 days, and both died eggbound full of slugs...I hope your luck is better.

I dont think I could wait that long before getting her into a vet to do something. I decided to give her till day 18 then she is going in to be looked at .

Thanks for your well wishes.

Man Paul that is horrible, sorry to hear that, do you think soaking in warm water does anything?

pweaver Mar 10, 2006 07:08 PM

A couple of years ago I had a hondo that had one egg left, and soaking helped it to pass.

The first milk that I lost last year was just late in dropping, so I didn't think much of it until I found her dead. The other was a black milk that I had raised for 4 years. It was her first year breeding. I didn't even think she was gravid because she didn't look a whole lot bigger. Then I came back from vacation and YUCK, talk about a smell! She had been dead for a couple of days. I never want to smell that again.

But yeah, it was a real drag.

What I mean by that. Is the eggs don't look full, the way they should be. Any update on the snake?

i have had a king be visibly gravid for longer than that, and they were resorbed.i will admit, though, from that pic that snake looks maybe a litle dehydrated, and those folds look a little suspect, could be carrying slugs.but i would give it at least several more days, don't mess with her or do anything drastic-leave her alone, that will be your best bet in my humble opinion...good luck.
