I have an 11 month old 250gram female who just laid her first clutch of eggs...don't freak out! they are all slugs, she hasn't been with a male yet. I have a 4 year old female that has gone through many clutches and her first egg laying experience was with fertile eggs (by accident).
so what i am wondering is...for people that wait until the dragon is 18 months and more than 350 grams, do you just wait till then and discard the unfertile eggs? what is the difference if the dragon lays fertile or unfertile eggs? I would think that either case would put just as much demand of the females body (as far as the large calcium sink in producing the eggs shell). the embryo development doesn't really take place until after the eggs is layed. right? so why is it bad to do premature breeding?
