Has anyone ever used them for a subturate. Im thinking bout sticking with the news paper. O well if it dont lay right in the tubs I guess lol.

Not sure exactly what type you mean, but, I used to use Aspen Pine chips for my Burmese, and my friend used it for his Red Tail as well. It works well, but is a bit expensive if you don't have a big name retailer around ( and even then its not cheap ). Its been a while since I had to buy any, so not sure of the price. I suppose it would do just as well for Balls.

aspen is a hardwood related to birch I think?? (guessing)
pines are conifers (cones and needles and pine oils)
......pine is generally no good.there are many species of pine that is used.some are ok.but hard to tell with our noses and skin..so stay away from all of it I guess)

pine chips or shavings? I dont know i stick to news paper.... I just hate to think of the dust from shavings not to mention the possibilities of mites/ticks...sorry i have to stop typing my parrot is driving me nuts and i cant think lol
