Chuckwalla sexing

Hi everyone. I am new to the world of chucks...but they are very awesome lizards. I live in So Cal and we (my cousin and I) go on regular herping trips...usually for snakes and arachnids. Within the last 2 months we found 2 chucks. One came from the San Diego area and the other from around Palm Springs. Both appear to be adults and one appears to be a definate female. I don't really know about the other. It is a bit larger and has lighterer colors and the tail is very light. Are there reliable methods to sex adult chucks? It does appear the larger one has a bulge at the base his tail, whereas the smaller one does not. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The best way to sex is to look for the pores on the under side of the rear legs. Females will have small, poorly defined closed pores. Males will have well defined poors with a waxy plug.

Here are some pics I took of my little male, as his pores were developing. A female should have pores that look similar to those in the first picture. A big male should have even more defined pores than those in the second. If these don't do the trick, let me know and I can try to snap some better pics now that my boy has grown up a bit.
