I checked out another corn snake forum site and they have reputation power. I think that would be a great thing to have. It kinda would give you feedback and would show others who actually knows what they are talking about and who is full of it and you should not listen to. I am not saying any of you (Us, we, whatever) are full of it.....but for the new people who post, it'd be kinda nice. It could either just be a point system or be like Ebay where you could leave comments. Although I do not qiute agree with Ebay's version as there is retaliation feedback, so maybe just an anonomous point system, so no one knows who added to their number, or anonomous comments. I don't know, just playing with ideas.

on the other forum not only do you earn points given by people who feel you made a good point or posted a helpfull bit of information, points are also awarded for number of posts.
I have seen people answer every damn post on the site, usually with nothing more then "good point" or "great picture" ..etc, never have anything contructive to add but end up with more "points" then people who have actually made a contribution.
In this form points are simply a joke.
There is nothing wrong with posts such as the ones I mentioned, they just shouldn't have points awarded for them.

...if you're experienced you'll know who's talkin' out their other end. If you're not experienced, it won't take much to make you happy..haha.

I don't like point systems...elitist gunk.

If it goes by # of posts I would be like a 7 on a 10 point scale and Kathy Love would be like a 2......

I agree. I think it should be for knowledgeable info only. Thats why I think annonymous comments might be a good option, so people have to explain why. Maybe the only people that could take away points would be the managers/administrators of the site. I would think that would keep things fair.

What I would like to see is feed back on KS. I think it should be here. Sellers pay to post, and the good should have an easy way to stand out from the not so good. It also allows buyers to have first hand knowledge before we buy.

I do not have a huge feedback on ebay, but I was a regular in one of the chats. Ebay has many short comings, but it is also a massive undertaking. The feedback system, and history of sales is a great feature. But it does create a lot of possible headaches for KS. If they provide a FB then they seem to be stepping into the area of some responsibility for sales, even if just records. But that leads to things like safe harbor, etc etc, I do not think KS makes the serious kind of scratch ebay does.

I guess I see both sides. I also do not want to see something for popularity, but a simple feedback would be nice.

just my opinion.

I wasn't really talking about feedback on sales. I just mean like feedback on posts. Say someone asks a question, you answer it and it really helps them out. I was throwing the idea around that they could give you reputation points or leave an anonymous statement. I was not thinking of a popularity contest either. I don't think it'd work out that way.
I see the other side of things too, though. It was just a thought
