I'll have to post 2 pics...can't figure out how to join them. I knew she was due soon, and last night she changed position from all the contorted ones to just a coiled one. Her first clutch, looks like about 15. Maybe 10 good ones.

very kwel and congrats. now will you let her incubate them or have you already wrestled them away from her? I feel like villian when I remove eggs by how they carry on afterwards but its alot easier and puts far less stress on 'em.

I took them from her...she didn't strike, but was NOT happy. She was jerking when I found them for temp reasons. I had a Labline incubator already set up for her or the Olive. My Coastal is still getting fatter, and my MacLotts has been breeding like mad with her father. Snake incest is good!, lol

Is that her nesting box? I cut a hole in mine at the bottom so she doesn't have to climb in and out over a high spot, but she pushes all the material out of her nest box when she is in it. Should I have used a higher hole? She likes to sit on top of her box too so keeping her from climbing around didn't work.

Also, when can you notice the eggs? Mine ovulated on 2-28 so I expect a clutch on the 25th of this month but I couldn't feel any eggs a few days ago (she tried to get out of her cage when I opened it) and I still can't see any.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper stored up acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched tv. And then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus stole all his acorns, and he got a race car. Is any of this sinking in?

She pushed a bit of it out, but not much. I leave a lip of about a half inch at the bottom so that moisture doesn't run out. I was pretty sure that she was gravid for quite awhile, but the male was mating with her about 3 weeks ago, and she was gravid then. After a while, you can see the skin stretch towards the rear and you just know.
