I have been herping N, California for nearly 28 years and still would like to know the same stuff you asked LOL HI names Jason I live in Amador County. The best advice I have been given about N Californi is dont ever go herping cause you wont find anything. Just go on some nice long hikes, if your not looking you will find tons of stuff. As far as times of year I would say anytime between May and September. Better at higher elevations when tis realy hot. Hope I helped a little

yes i agree with jason, july is a great month to look, nice and hot and dry.

In the hot months manny species become nocternal as its jsut to hot for them to be out and about during the day so keep that in mind in the hoter months
