This python hobby is amazing...

Kinglvr Mar 11, 2006 04:12 PM

Hey everyone, I'm super excited right now because me and my girlfriends new 4 month old Sumatran Blood is finally getting comfortable around us! She's improved ten fold from where she was when we first got her. She's not in the striking position at all times anymore and she's startin' to move around on us when we hold her. Here's some pics, oh and I threw iin a pic of my 2 yr. Old Hypomelanistic Floridana Kingsnake eatin' some grub. Thanks for lookin' everyone.

Told you it wouldn't take long for her to come around! Bloods are amazing snakes with an undeserved reputation.

LMAO! TOO funny, Tim. I'll keep that in mind for my future pics. I'll pay you royalties. No worries...

D'oh! Hey man, she's just a few inches under 7 feet now and has the body of a Carpet Python! This pic will give you some idea of just how large she is. She is fed 'normal' amounts and has never reproduced. Her age is just about 9 years now. So, she's had a LOT of time to keep growing into HUGE proportions! Truly one of the giants. Not sure if this season will result in anything, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed! I think if she did have a clutch she would either laugh and give me 3 eggs or go totally NUTS and drop like 35!

Well, thanks for hi-jacking my thread guys. Here I am, trying to present my "ordinary" Sumatran, and you guys come in showing off your beatiful chondros and such... I'm just kidding. Those are some awesome snakes. My girlfriend wants an emerald VERY badly.

that things' tail touches the floor then the snake goes up to the top of the tank, hangs over the back goes down and around to the side, through an opening in the side of the tank, loops around the branch and then rests it's head in the center of the tank. wow! that thing has to be like 15 feet long!

LMAO! Yeah, she REALLY is pretty huge and VERY tame. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her reproduction sometime soon! Hopefully in the next few years before I lose my mind.

Either that's one huge GTP or that's one small guy. I've never seen one so big!

LMAO! Well, I'm no 'shrimp' (I'm still bigger than JordanM) but I'm no gorilla either. Honestly, that IS a monster GTP! I wish she would produce a viable clutch for me one of these years... Babies would definitly be touted as coming from a 'GIANT' Bloodline!

Naw... you gots me by about 12 years age and are in better shape than I am at this time. Hey, us 'Blood' brothers can't be fighting man... it's US against THEM! Whomever 'THEY' are...

> no kidding, I'd be afraid your GIGANTIC GTP would eat me! That thing is friggin huge dude!!

LOL! Yeah, it's pretty nuts when I take her out. I'm still amazed after all these years.

Matt
p.s. - Sorry for helping along with the highjacking of your thread Kinglvr! Great looking (and tame) Blood Python you gots there! Please post again and I'll ONLY post about your post as long as Tim Rash with his hairy arms does not post about something other than your post if he decided to post again about one of your posts. Okay?!
