pacman forg shedding slimmy coat?

abell82 Mar 11, 2006 05:59 PM

I have two pacman frogs and also had one that just died. The other two a shedding a slimy coat. Bodies also feel syicky. There bedding is kept fairly moist and they have been eating ok. All this started after recently feeding some earthworms bought from a pet store. Since then I have been sucessful in feeding them fuzzy mice their favorite. Is this shedding something to be concerned about. I have had them for about eight months and this just started about 2 months ago. Any help would be great.
TIA

Did the frogs go into hibernation for some time? -Did they bury themselves as much as possible and not eat or more for that period?? If they did go into hibernation, then it is natural for them to loose and eat their old skin. U see they make a "bubble" and then maintain liquid while inside that bubble. Then when they finish hibernating they shed and eat their skin. They do this because temp's get too extreme for them (too cold, too hot).

If they didn't go into hibernation, then u might want to consider taking them to the vet.
