Cobalt's eyes sunken...deyhydration?!

Chamcham505 Mar 11, 2006 07:39 PM

Hey guys,

Well...Cobalt has been drinking, eating, basking, and pooping (Hehe) just fine. The thing that worries me is the fact that his eyes are a little sunken.

No, let me correct myself- They aren't really sunken, they're just kinda' flat...It's hard to explain. There just seems to be alot of wrinkles and loose skin around the eyes. I'm not sure if each Panther chameleon's eyes are individual and unique to that panther, but his eyes have always been more on the flat side, rather than bulbous, orbs that eyes should be. Anything to be worried about (I'm pretty sure he's not deyhydrated) Thanks in advance-

Michele

Anything like the second and seventh pictures from the left in the photos on this page? (They are normal.)

I am so glad that you referenced those photos. I have been really stressed about my Nosy Be. His eyes are purplish/grey at times, like the #2 photo that you referenced and I have thought that he looked dehydrated since his eyes aren't as "full" and pointed as the eyes in some of the other photos. I hope I'm just "micro-managing" as Vegas_Billy phrases it. Thanks for your help. Diane

I don't know why some panthers eyes are like this...or if there even is an explanation. Sunken (when sick or dehydrated) eyes in panthers looks more "hollos" around the inside of the bony edge of the eye turret generally.
