ID a colubrid,,,i think

xtwizx Mar 11, 2006 07:57 PM

I saw this snake at a local store that really stood out to me. It was labeled as a "butter" corn snake. I looked it up and it definitly is NOT a butter. I don't even think it's a corn snake from my research. It was in a container with all his king and milksnake containers.
I remember it had yellow eyes, or at least a good bit of yellow in it's eyes. It's base color was also a yellish color and it had black patterns The black looked pixelated and kind of zigzagged or angled..hard to describe. Anyone have a clue? I'd love to have it but i refuse to buy a snake that I don't know what it is.

In this day when so many snakes are hybridised or bred into so many unusual forms it can be hard to properly ID a snake of uncertain history.

However, from what I picked up on this, it should have the typical corn snake spearpoint marking on it's head. There is in the KINGSNAKE classifieds I person who is selling Butter corns so you can compare to the photos.

Kingsnakes are very different in that their heads are blunter and there is less distiction between the head and neck. Floridas lack the spearpoint too.
