Bearded dragons do not shed as often once they reached adulthood. However, they still should shed a couple times a year even as adults.
When you say your dragon is getting duller and duller, was he colorful before or is he just taking on the normal greying before shed? To help sheds, a nice soak in luke warm water (75F) for 10 minutes or so helps to loosen skin. If he doesn't start actually shedding skin in a few more weeks, might be a good ideal to take him to a vet for a checkup. I am assuming your dragon is eating normally, active and alert. If he isn't, then a vet check now would better, or at least double checking your husbandry, ie check basking temps, change the UVB light if it hasn't been changed longer than 6-9 months (mvbs should be changed once a year) etc.
