Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can use a "vis-a-vis" water base marker for writing on the boxes. You can get them at most office supply stores. It washes off very easily. I use shipping labels attached to binder clips so I can transfer any info onto a clean box without having to re-write.

Cool Rack, are those 2X2's?
Yes, the cross pieces are 2x2's. The uprights are 1x3's & the runners are 1x2's. I got the overall idea from the "Exotics by Nature" website. Sean has some very easy "step by step" instructions for making racks.

I like it a lot. How do you provide heat?
I use 12" heat tape under the boxes. The tape is run from left to right at each level (9 to 12 racks wide). The boxes are about 1/4" above the tape.
Sometimes the heat tape get's snagged. If I were to redo this unit, I would place a strip of sheet metal above the tape & tack it down to prevent this even though the heat tape is stapled down at various points. It is not the best rack system made & I have had to do some adjustments, but it works.

With Stickers that you can write on so you can remove them later if needed.

I use a grease pencil. Markings can be later removed with a dry paper towel. To expose more of the crayon-like marker you have to unroll the paper that wraps the marker. I think this is what you were refering to.
