New CWD Owner- HELP!!!!!

LisaRenee Mar 12, 2006 09:39 AM

I acquired 2 CWD a week ago from the pet store I go to. Their owner didnt want them anymore, and the pet store is NOT familiar with reptiles, so they were very thin when I got them. I purchased a mesh enclosure from PetSmart (which I now have learned not to shop at) and proceeded to set them up. I learned the next day that they need an enclosed tank to keep the heat and humidity up, so I changed their enclosure again. It took several days, but the male is finally eating. The female isn't, so I started feeding her baby food with a dropper. Is this ok???

Also, I have noticed now that he is bobbing his head up and down, and then going after the female. Is he MATING, or trying to hurt her??

That is more than ok, that is awesome, you are an awesome parent! She will come around, she is stressed. Just keep an eye on basic husbandry issues: temps, humidity, and offering diferent food items.
