BEARDED DRAGONS/BLACK BEARDS

WHY DO SOME OF MY DRAGONS' BEARDS TURN BLACK??

because that is why these lizards are called bearded dragons. Both sexes of bearded dragons can darken their throat area, though males will have a darker and larger area darken. This is done during mating season, dominance and territorial displays and pretty much any time the dragon feels threatened or stressed.
