Good veiled plants

captotterboy Mar 12, 2006 03:14 PM

Hey all,
I just got my fresh air habitat. A 30x18x30 that i am going to put an adult or jeuvinile veiled in. I have found a couple of sites that give lists of plants that are good for veils. Which ones are good for this size cage? I would like to use live because i like live plants better. any thoughts

Thanks alot,
Jeff

ps. for those you who helped me with the build your own cage question, i appreciate your help. but for my first chameleon, im going to use a commercial tank

Its a fairly small cage size, so you could get younger versions of the "standard" live plants most of us use. They may eventually get too large, but you can prune them. Too much foliage is better than too little. A Hawaiian schefflera, a pothos (hang the pot from the cage top frame so it can send its tendrils down and around inside the cage), or a Ficus. Ficus that small will tend to be more fragile, leaves and twigs may breaks fairly easily. If you have to prune plants to fit that's fine, just rinse off any sap or residue before putting it in the cage.
