Red eyes.........

ajfreptiles Mar 12, 2006 04:05 PM

Can someone explain if it is normal for normal boas to have red eyes....I have seen many.... many.... hypos with red eyes or some shade of orange, but to see normals with red eyes makes me think something is up genetically.

Maybe it is more common than I realize...just that I need some facts...

Has anyone bred red eyed normals together to see what you get?

I picked up a small female a couple years back...she was very red bodied, but had gold eyes....I produced 18 babies with her and a hypo last year, all the babies had normal colored eyes...

I have a female that has produced 2 litters for me to date, and she has red eyes...bred her to the same hypo and also another hypo and all but a few of the offspring from both litters had red eyes....

So I am just wondering if anyone knows anything about this?

Thanks Andy

I heard many breeders making predictions on how liketly that particular baby has potencial to be a super. But I really do not know much about it, but as far as that goes one can only guess.
Take care Andy, do not forget our conversation, (FEMALE).
