Rats of mice?

Smitty75 Jul 28, 2003 09:28 AM

Last night I went to feed my 2 y/o ball and I was quite surprised. After feeding him 2 mice, it was still apparent that he was hungry. So... I fed him 2 more. He gulped those down, and again looked interested in more food. He took two more, for a total of six mice. Although it seems pretty obvious to me that it is time for larger rodents (ie rats) I thought I would check if that is what ya'll feed you 2 y/olds.
Thanks in advance.

It is my personal opinion that rats are sooooo much better than mice. I know that if I ever get a hatchling BP again, they will be on rats from day 1.

You just can't beat the size and the nutrition packed inside of a good sized rat! My BP's grow so much better on rats.

I have a male BP that the only way I can get him to eat a rat is if I place the head of the rat into his mouth after he first swallows a live mouse. It is a pain it the butt, but the growth and the nutrition value I get just can't be beat!

I would say start rats. Start it Yesterday! . I wish you the best of luck, since your BP does sound like it has a good feeding response, you may be lucky and get him switched without much trouble.

cheers.
