my cage has bugs...

athos_76 Jul 28, 2003 09:44 AM

Well, not any bugs that could hurt my burm, but little things that are crawling around on her sunning branch....should I just soak the thing in a bleach solution and give her cage a really good scrubdown, or just live with it?

No need to live with it. Try using Rid-A-Mite or Black Knight to get rid of the bugs. I have used Rid-A-Mite and loved it. I've heard good things about Black Knight as well.
Good Luck

I have some reptile relief stuff that kills mites and all kinds of bugs, and its safe for my babies. I'll try that...if that doesn't work, I'll do a thorough clean job this weekend

mites suck. definitely go with the bleach solution that failing you could pop the wood in the oven at 350 for a while. A good thing to do is strip down the tank, disinfect it and use white paper towels as a substrate with one of those plastic dishes you get with take out for water. you'll be able to see anything that still mite be crawling around. sorry about the pun. best of luck
