Hello,

Back on 1/26 I bred my female blizzard to my male blizzard. It was a single introduction. I watched them carefully; left her with the male for about 24 hrs and after witnessing a successful mating put the girl back in her own tank. Her setup is the standard...UTH set to about 86-88 degrees, two hides, vit/calcium/mineral supplement, water dish, and a moist hide/laying box. She was very plump when I put her with the male; at her weigh-in the month before she was about 60 grams. Anyway, she never did lay for me so logically I'd let her see the male again... Except that ever since breeding her appetite has been way down. I've tried leaving dishes of mealies near her warm hide, tried crickets, waxworms, even a pinkie but she just isn't interested. She's eaten a little, here and there, but as of now, her last feeding was 2 wks ago...and all she wanted was 2 waxworms. Since 12/23 her weight is down near 50 grams. She looks pretty good actually; she's not all that long (little on the small side) and I had thought before she was starting to look slightly heavy.

But of course, for good egg production, she needs to eat way more than once every 2 wks!! And maybe the lack of nutrition is why she didn't lay. But, the only reason I can see for the appetite decrease is stress from breeding... this is her first year meeting a male. Sooo...I'm unsure about putting her back with the male. Should I wait for her appetite to pick up (whenever that may be..)? Any ideas?
