He even looks a little uncomfortable in the "burp" pic.

Well, he's certainly a bit akward looking, at the least...

It's amazing you caught him in a yawn. I've been trying forever, but when they finally yawn, it's over before the stupid digital camera gets the shot.

It's like "click" ... "focus" ... (yawn over) ... "snap" !!!

So, I'm guessing you have a digital video camera and you captured single frames... am I right?

Nope, not a video camera. I use my Nikon D50...digital SLR camera. So yeah, it can be a bit faster to shoot once you click than some point and shoots, but it's still just a camera.

All yawning shots I get of my snakes are ALWAYS durring feeding. That's the only time I can expect a yawn out of them like clockwork...when adjusting their jaws after a meal. I've gotten pretty good at reading their body language and knowing when the yawn is going to come, if it's going to come at all.

And I'm crazy, obsessive and loooooove yawning snakes...so I can't help to whip out my camera durring almost every feeding...hehehehe. Good things my snakes could care less...if there is food involved, nothing else exists! :D

Of all my snakes my Ball Python yawns the most and very randomly. One time I was letting someone who was very new to snakes (and scared of) hold him. He yawned while they were looking at his face and they freaked out. It took about 1/2 an hours to convince them that he wasn't trying to bite. I told her "It would have been a LOT fast and more blood would have been involved!" She didn't hold him again for a month
