Amarali Boa?

weebeasties Mar 13, 2006 07:07 PM

A friend bought a boa from one of those huge pet store chains then brought it to me to show thier new acquisition. They said it was in with regular color red tail boas and they paid $125.00 for the snake. She is about a 6 month old individual but to me she appears to be a amarali. She is a beautiful granit grey with heavy speckles. I have never seen a regular boa with these colors BUT I'm not a boa expert either. Do regulars come in a grey with a very maroon (deep red brick) color on its tail.
Would Pet whatever price a amarali the same as regulars?(I know its hard to say what the chains might do!LOL) I'll try to get a pic of the new snake but any ideas meantime? Thanks.

well here is the thing ...
many times pet stores will mis label boas due to lack of knowledge, so it is possible that it could be a BCA. additionally it could be a cross, as crosses are commonly found mis labled at pet stores. lastly it could be just a nicely colored BCI. the truth can not really be told, but a picture will sure get you a more accuate opinion.

Normal colombian bcis come in grey with deep maroon, but that color scheme is popular among bccs too. A pic is necessary to determine more.
