That's awesome. Is breeding these similar to Rhyncophis with a brumation period? I have bred Rhyncophis and am thinking about getting into E. prasina.

Also, do you have a picture with some sort of size reference? Like an adult wrapped around your arm or something. I have only seen subadults in person.

Happy Saint Pat's with the prasina eggs!

Do you breed them before and after brumation? I'm a bit confused how this technique goes. Does she store the sperm plug for fertilization?

Let me know if you'de like to trade one day. I have done my best to diversify. 1.1 Napa Valley, 1.1 Rex Knight, 0.1 High Plains Herps, & 0.1 Vivid Reptiles. The Napa Valley pair will be breeding next year...my first clutch...can't wait!

I dont brumate them, never have.
This is my 6th season breeding them and getting fertile eggs.

The female that laid these is nearly 4ft, I wouldnt dare wrap it around my arm, that particular animal seems to have a taste for me, so I stay as far away from its mouth as possible.

I treat them like I do austrailian/asian pythons as far as breeding goes.
Except I dont provide them any heat at all.

I cant compare them to rhino rats, as I dont have them yet, but I have a pair coming from High plains in the next few weeks.
(cant wait)

Your probably getting the 04 female that escaped while soaking before they were going to ship her to me in Feb. hahaha. Those guy are top notch. They cut me a deal on the 05 female because of it and sent her off the same day.

They found her a couple days later hanging off Rob's arm as he reached for some water bowls in storage. I hear she is doing great! At the time i did not have the Napa Valley pair (03 Female & 04 Male) so it worked for me; all my others are 05's.

When did you put the male and female together? What climate do you live in to afford no heat or brumation? I've heard that elswhere... not brumating or just brumating the male to produce plugs.

I misunderstood. I thought you were getting some more prasina from High Plains Herp.

Well as far as i know they still have a nice 04 Female available...

I live in N.Texas and keep my house around 75-78 year round, so its not hard to maintain a decent room environment for them.

I put the male and female together around mid november and let them have access to each other for about a month.
