retained eye cap

I have a ball python that has a retained eyecap...Okay so i tried soaking her and then placing her in a damp pillowcase...ive tried taking a q-tip and mineral oil and gently rubbing it off....i dont know what else to do.... i got her before december from a rescue and i thought that she had a retained eyecap but the rescue said that she didnt.... please any help at all...i dont have the money to take her to the vet because im in the process of getting a job so no money yet (I'm only 17 so im trying my best)... if there is anything i could possibly do here to remove it please please help!!

This isn't much of a problem. First of course, provide the best husbandry withen your means. Measure humidity if you can to make sure it's withen proper perameters. Digital meters are best, but since money's tight, there's those $2 do-dads from the pestore.
Second, continue with the soakings, but try not to overdue the stress on this snake.

The cap will eventually come off, and if stubborn, will likely come off with the next shed. Perhaps increase to daily soakings post-blue.

I've used this one for a quick fix in some snakes. Take a piece of masking or medical tape and stick it against your finger a few times to remove some of the glue. Gently press it against the rim of what you think is the retained eyecap, and gently lift it off. If the spectacle doesn't come off after the second try, then keep going with the water water soaks.
