Giant Vientamese Tree Frogs

KevinSG Mar 14, 2006 06:04 PM

Hello Every one, My name is Kevin, i am new to kingsnake.... I recently purchased what was apparently one of the first captive bread Giant Vietnamese tree frogs available in the U.S. I have seen a thread on here before about them, and i have found out that the scientific name is apparently temporary which is Polypedates sp. ... There is not one bit of care information avialalbe in english i have spent over a week trying to find some.... Right now he is a little bigger than a quarter and he is in a 5.5 gallon... I have cypress mulch as a substrate with some moss and sticks and stuff...also some fake leaves which he spends about 95% of his time on.... I have a mini undertank heater on one side of the tank that he never spends any time on... also one of those mini-compact flourescent reptile lights made by esu on the top... Not sure exactly what these guys need and i saw that on the last thread about these guys someone who breeds them in like russia or something left his e-mail.... but he has not responded to either of my to letters... Some help would be greatly appreciated... Thanks and i look forward to meeting all of you!

Those guys get huge!!
I don't know alot about them either.. if you can't find anyone to help you, research the area that they are found naturally in and try to mimic it as closely as possible.. (humidity, temp, terrain and available food).. I know.. easier said than done..
