Boa not eating!!!!

slicedog Mar 14, 2006 08:35 PM

So for the past month now, my female BRB Nala has refused to eat. She has never done so in the past. She is an adult at 6 ft in lenght. I have not been trying to breed her this winter. Could it be she is looking for a mate? I have lowered the temp in her enclosure a little bit this winter. No signs of Illness or a RI, and she has good weight. Any advice would be appreciated.

She may very well be not eating due to breeding season. Since you did cool her a little you may have triggered the cycle. She could even cycle with no change at all to the temps.

The cooling may have induced a reproductive cycle. IMO a month without a meal is no problem for an adult so long as it is not losing much weight.
